2010Workshops in Spain and England (quick review)…
I have to say, I love, love, love to teach. It's an exhilarating experience to be around fellow artists and like-minded souls. I love to share what I do and learn from what they do…so much fun.
I taught for the third time in Barcelona (actually in Gavà, about 30 mins from Barcelona). My good friend Lisa Mitchell lives there and has a delightful studio. I adore Lisa, she's so fabulous. She's supportive and nurturing, and her artistic spirit shines through in everything she does. We have a great time together. She coordinates & translates, and we have a blast!
In Spain we did the Hardware Store Art Journal, and Painted Portraits…so much fun! Students were adventurous and talented, the best type there is. They were patient with my almost non-existent Spanish, and they created wonderful work. So impressive!
In Harrogate, England, I taught 3 days of art journaling–Introduction to Art Journaling, Art Journaling in Layers, and Painted Portraits. I've already mentioned the awesome Dyan…and students in the classes there were wonderful, too. Funny, generous, teeming with talent, and they even bribed me with Curly Wurly's.
If you were in the workshops in Harrogate, I set up our Flickr group here.
Dyan had me make this canvas for her, to hang up in her store…it's about 3 feet long. I used the portrait on it from the class I taught earlier in the day. I started it the day before and set it outside to dry where it promptly was rained on by that notorious British rain. So I had to start over.
So, Dyan and Lisa, when can I come back? 😉
