Printmaking with Common Materials

Join Dina Wakley for a “LIVE” class, hosted in a private Facebook group!

Saturday May 29th, 10 am Pacific/1 pm Eastern (17:00 GMT)

** Notice: The LIVE portion has already taken place. The class video and group participation are available **

I love all things printmaking. This class is a fun dive into printing with organic materials, chipboard and tags, fun foam, stencils, and more. After we make prints, we'll create collages with the results.

Note: Pictures are representative of art you may do, not exact projects.

Supply List:

  • Your art journal
  • 20 sheets of paper to print on (I like Hammermill Color Copy can use cardstock if you want, but paper will work fine)
  • Two or three pieces of fun foam
  • A few leaves from your yard or neighborhood
  • Tags of any type or size
  • Pieces of cardboard (like from a shipping box)

  • Tool kit like scissors, paint brushes, mini blending tool & foam for stenciling, rag or wipes
  • Black and white journaling pens
  • Paint pens (like Posca) are nice to have but not crucial
  • Regular pencil
  • Stabilo All pencil

Paints & Mediums:
  • DWM gesso or SUB the gesso you have
  • DWM Acrylic paints in your favorite colors (I cannot give you specific colors I will use until closer to class), or SUB the acrylics you have
  • DWM Gel Medium, original and/or Ultrathick
  • Stabilo All pencil (if you don’t have one, you can do without, but I will be using it extensively)
  • Scribble Sticks
  • Your favorite stamps and stencils

How it works:

Dina will go LIVE in the class private group at the specified class time. You can gather your supplies and create right along with Dina as she teaches. You can comment, ask questions, and interact with other students. You can also share your work in the group. If you happen to miss the live broadcast, or if you want to rewatch it, it will be permanently saved in the group Video section.
