Reporting on my weekend…and happy July 4!

Happy July 4th! I am grateful for my country, for freedom, for blessings.

This past weekend I had the privilege of taking a class from Katie Kendrick, one of my all-time fave mixed-media artists. The class was at Jenny Doh's Studio CRESCENDoh in Santa Ana, CA.

I can't tell you how much I needed this class. How much I needed to fill my own cup, to paint and just see what happens. Thank you, Katie, for being a gentle soul and for helping me find pieces of myself again.

I painted like a wild-woman…I started EIGHT (yes, eight!) journal pages and did six pieces on loose watercolor paper. Some of what I did, I love. Some of what I did I don't love. BUT, the process is what is important, not the finished product. And the process rocked the casbah. I'll share some of what I did over the next few days, if you don't mind.

This was a quickie, on loose paper. Listening to layers and responding.
