Spotlight on the new Media Tools

I love the new Media Tools in my line. They are silicone-tipped brushes and they're great for all kinds of mark-making! Think of them like a paintbrush. If you can do it with a paintbrush, you can do it with one of these tools to get a different effect or mark. They work wonderfully in the thick Dina Wakley Media acrylic paints. Here are three of my favorite ways to use the tools.

1. Scribble right into paint (this technique is called sgraffito). Each tip will give you a different scribble mark.

 

2. Use the each tool to make interesting marks. Each tip will give you a different shaped mark. The mark will change depending on how quickly you move your hand, how much paint you put on the tip, and how hard you press. So fun!

 

3. Use the very edge of each tool tip to create interesting, artistic lines.
