Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop Week 3: “Age 8” Scrapbook Page

This week finds us using the Beauty Bloom, Originals Die #655455 by Brenda Pinnick. The die is super versatile–you can layer the flowers in many different combinations.

Click here for a master list of all the contributing designers' blogs. And/or you can click on through the blog ring using the links on the blinkie to your right.

I layered & stitched the flowers w/ my grungy style, and then created this scrapbook page. Thanks for stopping by!!

The ugly truth of how I create art…working conditions…

I'm doing this post for my Art Journaling 103 class…kiwifarmer (from New Zealand, of course!) asked about how much space I work in.

Here's the ugly truth. Not much. lol! And yes, paint and ink get on EVERYTHING. When I got my new TV, my hubby asked if I was going to get paint on it. "Ooooh, noooo, I won't!!" I proclaimed. Um, yeah. Within a week I was scrubbing bright green dots of paint off the screen.

*shrugging* It's just how I am and how I work. I'm at peace with it. My right-brained self can get any more organized than this. In fact, I'm so at peace with it that I didn't even bother to straighten up my table when I took this pic. With me, what you see is what you get.

So, without further ado…my sewing machine. I love this thing. It's about 20 years old and it's a real workhorse. I've sewn through THREE layers of chipboard with this baby.

And, my messy desk. Trust me, it gets worse. But rarely better. My mat is warped from my encaustic iron. Oh well.

So there you have it, the ugly, inky, painty truth!

Sizzix Triple Play Blog Hop Week 2: “My Loves” Twist Cube

This week's die is Karen Burniston's Twist Cube (item 656739) cut from Die Cuts With a View black cardstock.  Super fun! My cube is called, "My Loves." I did painted portraits of my 3 boys, and then adhered them to the cube.

To hop along the ring, just click on the links in the blinkie on the right. Or, there's a list of all the designers here.  Karen has video instruction on how to assemble the cube on her blog. The cube was easy to assemble, so don't be intimidated!
