Article on Get It Scrapped…and a few page backgrounds.

I have a little article on Get It Scrapped right now…here's the link: Use Proximity to Impart Meaning on Art Journal Pages.

The article is a very small exceprt from my class, "Art Journaling 103: Composition and Color Techniques for Art Journalers."

I have four art journal pages going right now…waiting for paint to dry. 🙂 When I start a page, I never know how it will end. I never have a plan about what I will do next. I just put the paint on the paper and see what happens. Then the paint tells me what to do next.

Proof I do clean up once-in-a-blue-moon…

Before:

Messy horrid desk

After:

Bwa ha ha! See? I cleaned up. Once. That's as organized & clean as I get, folks. My right-brain could barely handle it.

Breathing a sigh of relief….and sharing a chance to win a free class!

Well, last Friday I officially finished a 3-month long assignment and got it shipped off…all 32 lbs of it! What a relief that is! Now I am set to focus on my classes at Art from the Heart in the UK, at Scrap-a-Mia in the UK, and at Bambola in Madrid. I love traveling. I love teaching. So fun!

I have a couple of cool things to share…

"Sharing your name with a month isn’t always easy, but long time Big Picture instructor May Flaum has turned this month of May into a big scrapbooking party! In this 31 day class students will find daily inspiration delivered to them via email, as well as a classroom where videos, handouts, an active message board, and so much more awaits. Filled with both new layouts and all time scrapbooking favorites, May with May is going to be a crafty good time. To make this class even better – it’s priced at just $19 so it’s budget friendly too. The fun starts May 1."

To win the free spot in the class, just comment on this post. I'll draw the winner on Friday.

And because every post needs a picture…here's an oldie but a goodie.

“Dear Me” Mini Art Journal: A love note to yourself.

$35

Friday, April 8th, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Join me and we’ll create a love note to yourself…a little pep talk, a little self-affirmation. We’ll create a mini art journal and fill it with paint, images and stamped messages.

Please bring:

  • 6 to 8 photographs of you. I used photographs from my childhood. I just printed them out on a regular printer on regular paper…no need to print them on photo paper. Black & white is great because it blends with any color palette.
  • White acrylic gesso
  • Acrylic paint (I will have the colors I used for you, but you may want to change the color scheme)
  • Paint brushes
  • Black pen for journaling
  • Black ink pad (I prefer Ranger Archival in Jet Black)
  • Optional: Sewing machine, a set of alphabet stamps. I will bring mine to share, but you may want to bring your own so you don’t have to wait or so you can customize your journal.

Please bring:

  • White acrylic gesso
  • Paint brushes
  • Black pen for journaling
  • Black ink pad (I prefer Ranger Archival in Jet Black)
  • Rubber brayer
  • Optional: Sewing machine, stamps. I will bring mine to share, but you may want to bring your own so you don’t have to wait or so you can customize your book.

Some girly faces…

Some quick faces I did last week….unfinished, of course, because that is how I roll lately.

Feeling super overwhelmed today. Hate that…deep breath, deep breath.

Hee hee…so fun! Me as a stencil! Who can I stencil-fy next?

Me as a stencil

This & that…

Howdy…I am still working on my (secret) project. Hope to be done with that this week! And I do have a few half-done journal pages to photograph, will try to get that done today, too.

I have a few random things to share:

  • My newest class, Art Journaling 103 is now available in self-paced form. Buy it singly or in a bundle with Art Journaling 101 and 102. The bundle price is currently $150 (a $45 savings) BUT it will increase to $170 on April 1st. Here are links to the bundle and Art Journaling 103.

DeLovely_blogI need to have a super-productive, artsy day today. I hope you have the same! 🙂

March Jenni Bowlin Studios goodness…

The March JBS kits are fun…the main kit is full of Jenni's newest release, and the "His" and "Hers" add-on kits are fab. The project kit is one of the new Hodgepodge Minis, too…plus vintage goodness to make a cute album.
