I’m overwhelmed…

at the response to the class drawing…wow. Thanks to everyone who left comments! I wish I could give passes to everyone.

Carter drew the winner…and it is:

Oh wow, that would be a blast!! 🙂

Congrats!! Just email me and I"ll let you know how to get registered for the class.

Class starts October 20th, and I've been working hard on it…I am even filming a few "how to" videos. They're pretty home-brewed, but they'll help you see some of the techniques I use in my journals. If you're interested, check it out at http://www.debbiehodge.com. 🙂

More auctions for my friend…

The oh-so-talented and kind Emily Falconbridge is doing some auctions to help out my friend who I told you about in the last post. Check it out HERE. One of the many cool things you can bid on is this incredible painting by Emily:

I love how loving and generous the online scrapbooking community is. It touches me. I know many of you have never met Kimberly…I've been lucky to meet her twice. Kimberly…you have support from all around the world, we're rallying around you. Love & peace.

Another tragedy…

Just yesterday one of my online friends lost her husband. He was only 38. He leaves his wife and two young boys. We are all so sad, so devastated for her.

The amazing Lisa Pace is auctioning off her "Dream" banner, and all proceeds will go to help our friend. Check it out HERE.

Creativity…

Last night on Paperclipping, Noell asked me about my family and creativity…I come from a very creative family. I must have been too hyped up on diet Coke because I totally spaced that my mom is a scrapbooker (a really good one!), a quilter, and a seamstress. I should have mentioned that! And my dad is a leatherworker and a photographer. I realized it's hard to be interviewed…you don't know what you're saying half the time.

I love how my parents encouraged all of us to develop our talents. We all had music lessons, dance lessons. I can remember my dad giving my sister photography books for Christmas because she was interested in it, and art supplies, too. Just last Christmas my parents gave one of my sons a leather notebook portfolio & paper, because he loves to write stories. I love that…I love how they see a talent or interest and encourage it in a simple, thoughtful way.

It makes me think about how I am encouraging creativity in my own children. Maybe I need to cut out some of the video game gifts and focus on gifts that develop talents. I need to rethink gift giving, for sure.

Thanks for having me on Paperclipping, Noell…and I apologize for my dorkiness. Ugh!
