Video fun of my Art from the Heart workshops….

One of the great things about teaching is meeting fellow artists…artists who are so talented that they really don’t need to take my classes! lol! One of those is Milliande…check out her awesome website. So full of inspiration!

Milliande did this fun video of her experience taking my classes at Art from the Heart in Harrogate, England earlier this month…too fun! Next *I* need to take a class from *her.*

Bits of art journaling from my England trip…

I know I need to sit down and write a proper review post of my fabulous England trip (and I will)…but for now, here are a few peeks of some art journaling I did while I was there…the last few are unfinished. This trip to the U.K. was wonderful–the Inspired Retreat was a blast, and the art journaling workshops at Dyan's were so fulfilling…I'll be posting more pics soon!

A note about Tuesday’s class at Creative Quest…

Tuesday's class at Creative Quest is all about altering photographs…taking photographs of you or someone you love and using Portfolio Oil Pastels and acrylic paint to give them a new, unique look…like this:

If you have questions, let me know! 🙂

Altered Portraits
Come & learn
how to alter portraits and photographs for inclusion in your
journaling.

Students need to bring:
–Printouts of several
photographs–enlarge them to fill a whole page, if possible. It's okay if
they're black & white, we'll be adding our own colors. You need to photocopy
the photos or print them on a laser-printer…ink-jet copies will smear.
Photographs of people work best, especially if the photograph is mostly a
portrait from the shoulders up.
–Portfolio Water Soluble Oil Pastels
(contact me if you need to know where to buy these)
–Also, students need to
bring standard art journaling supplies–acrylic paints, brushes in several
sizes, gesso, gel medium, pens for journaling.
–I will provide watercolor
paper to work on. If you'd prefer to work in your personal art journal, please
do!

Greetings from England!

Popping in to upload a few pics…the Inspired retreat is over, and it was a great event. I love walking around the class to see what students are creating…and holy frijoles, they made amazing and inspiring pieces!

This is Crabwell Manor, the location of the event. Loved it….it's an old converted castle, and the rooms are all unique.

This is part of the old wall that surrounds Chester. At one point in history the Romans were here, and there are even remains of a Roman wall and they've discovered the site of an amphitheater.

Small02

There are lots of tudor-style buildings in the Chester shopping district. Lovely!

Chester Cathedral….a lovely old cathedral that dates back as far as 927 AD.

Small04

Here's Karen Burniston, my long lost pretend twin separated from birth…heh heh. We had a blast, and bought these "jaunty caps" because it was raining and we were cold.

Small06

Here's another shot of Chester…and all the shoppers with their "brollys" (umbrellas).

Small07

I didn't take many pictures at the event (I was too busy teaching), but hope to steal, er, I mean ask politely if I can download some from Emma & Karen.

I'll leave you with a few shots of the interior of the Chester Cathedral.

I love England….so fun to be back here again after all these years (y'all know my family lived here for 3 years when I was a kid, right?) I just wish my fellas were with me! I'm bringing home 60 Curly Wurly's and 48 Star Bars and 5 lbs of gummy sour coke bottles!! 🙂

The Creative Therapy prompt is up….

The new prompt is, "What is the worst thing you ever did?"
