Come to class and learn how I use water with spray inks to create interesting backgrounds. We\u2019ll learn the technique, then I will show you how to make this simple accordion-spined journal. My journal is very sparsely decorated, but yours can be as elaborate as you like! I used my journal to reflect on the things I am especially grateful for.<\/p>\n

What You Need to Bring<\/p>\n

–White gesso<\/p>\n

–Sky blue acrylic paint, as well as your other favorite colors<\/p>\n

–Your favorite brushes<\/p>\n

–Good adhesive, like gel medium, or even a strong dry adhesive like ATG.<\/p>\n

–Any stamps & stencils you want to use. I will have an assortment to choose from, too.<\/p>\n

–A good black pen for journaling.<\/p>\n

–Optional: your own sewing machine. I\u2019ll have mine, but bring your own if you don\u2019t feel like sharing.<\/p>\n

**Repeating this class by request.** Come and learn how simple black spray paint can add \u201cpop\u201d and drama to your journaling. We\u2019ll go over 3 techniques that I love to use. If you\u2019re sensitive to spray paint fumes, feel free to bring a mask (we\u2019ll be spraying outside, but sometimes the fumes waft inside anyway).<\/p>\n

What You Need to Bring<\/p>\n

–Your art journal. I will provide watercolor paper to work on, too.<\/p>\n

–White gesso.<\/p>\n

–Your favorite brushes<\/p>\n

–Acrylic paint in your favorite colors.<\/p>\n

–Black pen for journaling. A white pen is handy, too.<\/p>\n

–Any other journaling stuff you think you might want\u2014ephemera, stamps, etc.<\/p>\n
