Linda Clancy from Oklahoma took my Introduction to Art Journaling class. Isn't her page lovely? So ethereal and pretty. Here's what she had to say:<\/p>\n

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your class last weekend!
Wanted to share a picture I made with what I learned.<\/p>\n

The wings are definitely Baby Thighs!!!!! [Dina's Note: if you've taken classes from me, you know what Baby Thighs are!]<\/em> I used acrylics and modeling paste for the angel and heart. The wings were cut with the Tim Holtz angel wings die. And liking bling I of course I added some stickles! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! Linda Clancy<\/p>\n

I saw the amazing encaustic book by your insane new BFF (hilarious Scrapiverse guy!)!) on your blog and thought I'd share the ones that my Mom and I did at your Arizona class back in February at The Occasional Artist.  I stalk your blog every day and it was such a treat (okay, dream come true) to be able to fly in from Washington state and take your <\/strong><\/em>class with my mom.  Couldn't believe there were only 8 of us in that tiny room.  You were totally real, fun, funny, generous and all around awesome.  We learned a lot in that short time and were thrilled with our results.<\/p>\n

My mom, Susan, is beyond a birding fanatic, so her theme, of course, was birds.  So is everything else in her life.  I used to tease her because she would only use what I called 'safe, Eddie Bauer colors'  aka. BORING)  I love to see how far she has come with this bright, crazy colorful book.  <\/p>\n

I wasn't sure if I wasn't going to like making an "encaustic" book.l  I just imagined big chunks of junk everywhere.  I was so <\/em>wrong.  I loved the process and I love the results.  Our family is originally from Hawaii, so I tend to gravitate toward the bright, tropical colors and themes.  I even stamped on pages from an old Hawaiian-English dictionary.  Thanks for that technique and all your fabulous inspiration!<\/p>\n

Thanks, Heidi, for sharing! I do love seeing pictures of what people make in class. It's so fun! I won't always be able to share all of them on my blog, but I will try to share them periodically. I am always amazed at what students in my classes create. It's very inspiring for me to see…I think I get more out of seeing their artwork than they get from me!
