It looks like a paint store threw up on this…(Out of the Journal Week 4)
but I like it. It's authentic to the moment. Tomorrow it may end up painted over…lol. Still need to do one more this week!

I've been squeezing some super-quick art journal pages in between working on assignments. Not a lot of layers, unusual for me. Just some quick ink blots, quick journaling, adding in some of my stamped images. Spilling out some thoughts. Then turning the page. Love it.
I'm still keeping up with my Smash Book August project. Still really enjoying it…and not worrying if I don't have a lot of time each day to work on it. I do what I can and then move on. Still really, really enjoying it! I didn't take as many detail photos…b/c it's 110 F outside and it's seriously torture to be outside taking pics (that's where I get the best light). You can click on each pic to see a slightly bigger version.
Hi-dee-ho! Here's my progress so far. I have a funny-looking sad girl (16×20), and a small goofy birdie (9×12, on watercolor paper). I did the birdie when I was teaching my birdie painting class. I still have another canvas going, too…gesso drying.
How are you enjoying the challenge? What are you learning about yourself?
Here are some other canvases for you to explore:
Rinda's canvases in blue & yellow
Junelle's dramatic & textured canvas
I have sooooo much to do and it seems like my mojo has deserted me. Ugh! So this page is an appeal to the mojo gods to send me some inspiration! I need it, yo!
I love, love seeing what artists are doing with my stamps. It's a thrill!
Check out these awesome tags by Linda Brown of LB Crafts in the UK. Linda used PanPastels on these…and she has step-by-step instructions on her blog. Totally cool!
Also check out this fun & funky scrapbook page by Solfrid (nicknamed Jonna). Her blog is in Norwegian…go & enjoy her beautiful work. I love how she used the stamps…you can see "Boys Star" and "Create with Abandon" in the background and "Script Star"in the foreground. Wonderful page, Solfrid!
ETA one more! Look at these fab cards by the amazing Sue Roddis….swoon!
ETA: a couple more!
Love the purple & yellow & orange on Rinda's piece:
Anika's cool & grungy canvas:
Lots of grungy layers…love it. If you don't like a page, keep painting. I painted over this many times until it looked cool to me. And if you simply cannot make it work, just turn the page. There's always a new page!
Take some time & click through these links to Out of the Journal participants…some awesome inspiration here!

If I've missed your link, I apologize…drop me an email and I'll get it added lickety split!
Join me at The Creative Quest on Sept 17th from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We'll make this quirky and funky mini art journal, "What I Want." We'll use acrylic paint, Distress Stains, modeling paste, and my new stamps to make this colorful book. More info here…
Carol Ponsford emailed me this week to show me what she's been doing with my new stamps (available through Stampington.com and maybe even at a stamp store near you).
Aren't these ATCs wonderful? Carol said, "I wanted to share with you the ATC's I made to take to the Stampaway convention in Cincinnati, OH this coming weekend. The flap with the circle swings open to reveal the entire image….I made 48 of these ATC's in the 3 complementary color combos."
Carol, these are divine!
I recently played with my stamps and made these canvas panels…you can read more about them here.
I know a few of you have already linked up your week 2 canvases…way to go! Here are mine…just shapes & textures, really. But I've been having fun. Try experimenting with shapes and stencils…don't worry about making your art representational. Just play and see what happens.
This one is 9×12:
This one is 16×20.
I'll do a post this weekend with all your links…keep 'em coming!
