An Art Journaling Journey: Blast from the past 2005

I started art journaling back in 2005. There was a small community of artists who were sharing their journals then, and I was insecure and still figuring out my artistic voice.

Here are some of my pages from that year:

I love to look back at my first couple of journals. I have changed and grown so much since then, but I still love my first pages. They are authentic to that moment…and they were the beginning of an amazing art journey.

I love the energy in this silhouette…and giving thanks…

She just makes me happy.

I am thankful for many things in my life. So many. All the big things are obvious (so blessed to have the fellas, my good husband, my home, my family)…here are some of the little things that I am grateful for:

  • Big QT cup with a lid and a straw.
  • "My people"–art friends and kindred spirits all over the world.
  • Chobani Greek Yogurt, mango flavor.
  • Tap water. (Yes, tap water…after being in Peru twice this year and not being able to drink the water there.)
  • Instagram.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Gelli-printed mess…

When I play with my Gelli Plate, there are always a few prints that I feel "eh" about. These two were initially "eh" to me. But, now I think I like them. They're grungey and messy and the imperfections speak to me. Can you spot my Boulders stencil?
