A note about buying online classes…

Hi from CHA! I have been here doing book signings and demos with my new Crafter's Workshop stencils. Very fun and exciting!

I just need to post a little reminder. When you buy an online class, you are buying a license for one personal user (i.e. you) to use the materials. It is unethical to share your class login and password with a friend. In fact, it is theft. The class materials are for your personal use. You cannot share or distribute them in any way, as they are under my copyright and all rights are reserved.

My sweet software-engineer husband can tell when you buy a class and share it, because your computer leaves a digital footprint. When your friend logs in to your account, it leaves a different digital footprint.

Please be honest and do not share your password and login.

Playing with the small silhouettes…and come see me at CHA!

Are you going to be at CHA this year? If so, come and see me! Here is where I will be:

Sat 10-12, The Crafter's Workshop Play Table
Sat 1-2, F&W (doing a demo)
Sat 2-3, F&W Book Signing
Sun 11-12, R&M Book Signing
Sun 1-3, The Crafter's Workshop Play Table
Mon 1-3, The Crafter's Workshop Play Table

I have been playing with the small silhouettes of my new stencil release with The Crafter's Workshop. I'm enjoying having smaller figures to play with. They work great for clusters and groupings.

Subscriber Special for JBS Kits…

You need Jenni's kits…seriously. I adore Jenni and all of her products. Her kits are eclectic and so easy to use! Plus she does exclusive papers, stamps, and stencils that you can only get in the kits. Here's the subscriber special:

Neocolor II gal…

Quick page…a simple background with the JBS Studio feather stencil (it's in her January kit…you must get it) and Dylusions ink sprays. I did the drawing with Neocolor II crayons.  Simple, quick, sometimes that's all you need. You don't have to do every trick you know on every page.

New Dylusions!

I'm so happy that my wonderful friend Dyan Reaveley has some new ink sprays coming out (and cool new stamps, too!!).

My beautiful friend happens to be in my house right NOW visiting me…I truly adore her! I got to work on a secret project for CHA with her new inks. If you're going to be at the show, be sure to go to the Ranger booth and see it. I'm predicting the White Linen, Calypso Teal, and Funky Fuschia will be my new faves. I used the White Linen on the backgrounds below. It is subtle and creates a ghosting effect. It really gives pages a many-layered look without much effort at all. I love it so much that I can't bring myself to do anything else to those pages. I keep turning to them and stroking them…heh.

Visit the Ranger blog here to see color swatches and a video of Dyan showing off the new sprays.

For the love of silhouettes…

Here's a fun one. That dark color I'm using is Golden's Payne's Gray. You need it. It rocks the casbah. Can you spot my new Vine stencil? The pink is the fabulous Dylusions ink spray. I love how Pam Carriker's stamp looks like a ghost over her shoulder.

Sharing three more stencil designs…

Here are my final three stencil designs for this release. The Crafter's Workshop has loads of new designs this show, including many from the awesome Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and the awesome Ronda Palazzari.

First up is Roman Letters.

Sharing a scrappy little JBS art journal…

I made this with wonderful Jenni Bowlin Studios products for a class I'm teaching at Whim So Doodle in St. Pete, FL. So fun! I'm teaching 4 classes there the 23-26th of Jan. Join me!

A bit of sadness…

Not the best drawing I've done. But this page is what came out after the Sandy Hook tragedy last month. I have no words that would add anything of substance to the solemnity and horror of what happened. I just wanted to express my sadness…and my continued prayers for the families. Now is when it will really get hard, now the spotlight is fading and people are moving along with their lives. I just want them to know I am still thinking of them.
