Paperhaus Blog Hop

Hi…I'm partcipating in the PaperHaus magazine blog hop today. Here's a message from the magazine:

Welcome
to the PaperHaus Magazine Summer Delight Blog Hop! We are excited that
you are hopping with us and we would like to thank you for hopping
along. We are celebrating the release of the Summer Issue of PaperHaus
Magazine! There is SO much inspiration, techniques, projects, and
exclusive artist interviews inside. Not only that, but it’s an issue
filled with amazing Mixed Media projects from people from all over the
world. We hope you enjoy flipping through the pages as much as we
enjoyed putting it together for you. Below is the link to the summer
issue. Give it a browse, and then come back to hop to the other blogs.

Every day in June on the PaperHaus Blog (www.thepaperhaus.com), there will be amazing inspiration and tutorials. Be sure to stop by.

Here's a peek of one of my projects in the magazine. I was given a color scheme to work with, which I can find challenging. As soon as you tell me I have to use something, I start not wanting to use it! But the colors were lovely and my pages came together really easily.

I used all the usual suspects…Dylusions inks and stencils, acrylic paint, Stabilo ALL pencil, Neocolor II crayons, modeling paste, The Crafter's Workshop stencils.

Four things I’m loving right now…

1. Pinterest. You can find my boards here. I use Pinterest mostly for art inspiration. When I'm stuck or uninspired, I go to Pinterest and BAM! I have lots of ideas in minutes.

2. Neon oil pastels. Inexpensive and so fun to play with!

3. Catalyst Brushes by Princeton. They have a great spring and are inexpensive. Love 'em. I bought my first one in January when I was at Whim So Doodle in St. Pete, FL. Now I have quite an assortment.

4. Stabilo Woody Pencils. They're like my favorite Stabilo All pencil, but they're fatter (they're made for little kids, I think). They write & color well on paint (yay), are water soluble, and have lots of fun colors.

A few facebook things to share…

Did you know there's a Facebook group for my book? The artists in the group are working through the page challenges in the book…lots of inspiration posted: Art Journal Freedom Fans….Click Here

And, Cynthia Fawcett created a FB group called 100 Faces after being in my face drawing class this past weekend. The artists are trying to draw one face per day for 100 days: 100 Faces Challenge…Click Here

I believe both groups are set to private, but the group administrators will approve memberships if you request to join.
