The nausea has almost subsided…

thank goodness. That flu bug is nasty. Zaps your energy, gives you colossal headache, and makes your tummy feel like an ocean in a storm. Not fun.

Some linkage to tide you over until I can post some ART!

  • fd’s flickr toys. The coooolest coolio stuff for your pics.
  • Adobe Lightroom. Download it. Fall in love with it. Then be ticked when the beta version expires in February and you have to shell out the big bucks for this cool software. Rumor is the pricepoint will be around $300. Beta users are hoping for a discount, so download it now!
  • Stripped Music. Get your mind outta the gutter. Not that kind of stripped. This site has popular music artists singing their stuff live and even covering a few songs.

This layout is for a ScrapGal challenge to scrap on a surface other than cardtock. I used a Hambly overlay. It’s not very easy to photograph a clear layout!!

I finally got another Alphabetica art journal in the mail…so I will be arting very soooon!

I. Have. Nothing. To. Say. Today.

Spent the weekend in…

Utah Valley. My kids exclaimed, "It’s a winter wonderland!!" They were thrilled to see and play in the snow. We were freezing, though. We’re thin-blooded desert dwellers who get cold when it’s 50 degrees, let alone 25. But we had a nice time.

Status report:

  • Decking of the halls: done. They’re as decked as they’re gonna get.
  • Shopping: partly done. I’m not even motivated to get the rest of it finished.
  • Cleaning: not even close to being done. Anyone wanna wash baseboards and blinds? Ha.
  • State of mind: no comment.
  • Reeds’ car: totaled. Yep, they totaled it. I didn’t think they would, but I was wrong. It just makes me even more grateful that he walked away from that accident.
  • Sick kids: mostly healthy except for some general snottiness. Both kinds.

I’m singing in the Messiah Choir this year…the performances are Dec. 9th and 10th, 7:00 p.m., at the church near the corner of 51st Av and Union Hills. It’s free! We’ve been practicing for 3 months, we have an orchestra and a very talented organist. If you’re local, come hear us.

Giving thanks…

I am thankful for (in random order):

  • Christ, truth, the fruits of the Spirit. Faith that has been tested but has endured. Unshakeable.
  • Family. I am the infertile woman who ended up having 3 babies. A miracle, really. And I’m married to an easy-going guy who loves me. A blessing.
  • Protection. Reed was hit by a red-light runner this week, and the wheels of her truck were on the hood of his car. Yes, the hood. 2 more feet and they would have been on top of him. He walked away from the accident unhurt (after he got the door unjammed). My brother Mike returned from Iraq this past week after this second tour. He has amazing stories of protection. He felt many times that his life was spared.
  • Goodly parents. They taught the truth, they live it. They’re the real deal.
  • True friends. Thanks for loving me, for being encouraging and supportive. For laughing with me.
  • Art. For the understanding and peace that comes from cheap acrylic paints and brushes, gel medium, glaze, and bits of paper.
  • All the little things that are really big things. A hummingbird outside my window. The Arizona sunset burning orange and red and purple. A new pen for my journal writing. Napoleon Dynamite magnets. The smell of Hambly. A bowl of oranges and pomegranates on my counter. Books that move me.
