Missy Higgins…

where have you been all my life? I’ve been downloading her songs from iTunes like a crazy woman. Check out "Scar" and "The Special Two" and "They Weren’t There."

Tonight I’m teaching a class on keeping a personal journal. I have volumes and volumes of journal sitting upstairs on a shelf. No one will probably ever read them (hard to get past the sentimentality and drama), but that doesn’t matter. They’re for me, mostly. They’re my escape and my creative process and my confidante. They are for me.

I never saw a complete rainbow…

until I lived in Arizona. Now we see at least one a year…they are so amazing, so cool! We love seeing that huge, full arch stretching across the sky. Today was a rainbow day–we heard thunder but could still see sunshine, so we ran outside and sure enough…a full rainbow. So. Totally. Awesome.

I took some pics but couldn’t get a pic of the whole arch (I would either need a new lens or to walk down the street a LONG way).

Wanna know why the sky is so different colors in the two pics? Well, first, the clouds and colors were changing rapidly as the storm rolled in. Also, the first pic was taken w/ my kit lens (18-70) and a clear UV filter. The 2nd pic was taken with my 50mm lens and a color enhancing filter. I didn’t doctor these photos in Photoshop except to make them a little bit lighter.

To the thief who stole from me…

To the thief (or thieves) who walked into my garage and got into my van and stole 40 CDs and 20 DVDs….

I hope you enjoy listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s recording of The Messiah. Maybe you’ll also enjoy the Indigo Girls, the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge, the Dixie Chicks…I’m totally sure that’s the kind of music you’re in to. Yeah, I can see you rockin’ out in right now to "And the Glory of the Lord." And enjoy my sons’ DVDs…since I know your kind of fun is watching Disney movies. There’s nothing like a little Hercules to get you going, ya know? Maybe some Mulan? Well, enjoy.

Friday…

Had a post all typed up yesterday, but Typepad gobbled it up and I didn’t feel like retyping. It was so eloquent and thought provoking, I know you’re so disappointed that you didn’t get to read it.

I’ve been busy and haven’t had a lot of time for arting…I need to paint. My art journal is calling to me. This week I made VD (uh, that’s Valentine’s Day) cards for a ScrapGal swap:

And I did a quick & simple album for my MIL’s bday (we created a bear at Build-a-Bear for her, I took pics, then I scrapped the pics for the accompanying album). Gee, I hope she doesn’t read my blog regularly her her surprise will be spoiled. Doh.
