It’s the end of an era…
Today marks the day that my sister has sold her online store ScrapGal.com. I’ve been her design team coordinator for a few years, and since my sister has sold the store I’ve decided it’s time for me to hand the reigns over to someone else. What a fun experience it has been being the DT coordinator there–it has changed my life. I have met online friends in real life who I know will be my friends for years. It was so fun creating a positive community! I will miss it. ScrapGal will still be around & still be great, it just won’t be us in the cockpit…I did this layout as a tribute to my sister and all the hard work she’s done over the last few years. Thanks, Carly, for creating ScrapGal!
Tales from internet shopping…
So while browsing the internet for comfortable and slightly-sensible black sandals, I came across these beauties:
Seriously, people. That’s a shoe that Amazon.com is currently offering for the insanely good price of $128 ( 50% off retail). And apparently it’s a shoe that people are buying…maybe because it’s part compression stocking, part gladiator costume, part portable-tourniquet? Who knows. I only have one question…will it make my cankles look big?
Trio of Handmade books class…TONIGHT!
Peeks…
I’m doing a "Trio of Handmade Books" class at Poppy Ink on Monday evening…here are a few peeks of the projects! We’ll be making 3 easy handmade books from the scrapping materials in the February kit. The emphasis on the class is the construction of the 3 books, but I’ll show you how I’ve embellished mine, too.
Proof…
I’m using the force….heh. Do you recognize me & Celeste? Too bad my body doesn’t really look like that…uh, minus the blue smurfy skin and weird floppy head horns.
Two quickies…
Ye olde bulleted list:
- Went to CHA on a last-minute whim, thanks to some prodding from Celeste who rocks and who I love and who is going to take me to The Met in NYC. She was gracious enough to let me crash in her hotel room. I was only there 24 hours…and I forgot my camera AND my business cards. Had a blast, though. Chatted with so many great people, including Vivian and Emily and Sarah and Kerry Lynn and JJ and Gigi and Kah Mei and the Studio Calico gals April & Scarlett and Kelly and Erin B and Allison and the incomparable Lisa Pace and many others. So fun!
- Did you know I am a Jedi? I am. I’ll provide the proof later, i.e. when I get off my derriere and scan in the picture.
- Latest songs downloaded from iTunes: New Soul by Yael Naim (the MacBook song), Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova, Turpentine by Brandi Carlile, and Rain by Priscilla Ahn.
- Do you know what is inspiring me lately? K. Barteski…just look at her gorgeous work below, and check out her blog for loads of eye candy.
