Reflecting…
This week a friend's husband passed away. He was hit by an SUV while going to work 3 weeks ago and had been in a coma. He leaves three boys, and one on the way. Needless to say, I've been absent from the blog-o-sphere this week, I haven't been creating anything to share, haven't felt peppy. The funeral is today. I've been reflecting on how we don't have any guarantees, how life is fleeting and precious. How we need to live with no regrets. How we need to make a mark on the world and express love. How we need to enjoy the journey. That's all so trite, but at times like this it's what comes to you as truth.
Winner and some Hambly goodness…
People, you can email me and say, "Knock, knock, you forgot to draw the winner on Wednesday!" Sorry this is late…without further ado, the winner of the pass to Trish's Sweet Treats for Fall class is….
Congrats, Anso! Email me and I'll set you up with the pass.
I did some Hambly scrapping…and my mojo is making its way home. Slowly.
I did this last layout with scraps I had laying around on the table…staple a few scraps on the cardtock, find a picture, and voila, a 5-minute layout. Gotta love those.
I promise I know how to use a computer…
and that I am not a total idiot. Usually. I got a phone call this a.m. from the sub-coordinator for the district, and she said, "Why aren't you at your job today?" I said, "Huh? Wha??" She told me I had accepted a subbing job for today, and school had started and I wasn't there. Panic attack! Yesterday I logged into the sub system & saw a job, ran upstairs to get my planner, and when I came back the job was gone…I thought someone else had taken it. It turned out that my computer decided in my absence to accept the job for me…or the subbing pixies are conspiring against me…who knows. So I got ready in 5 minutes flat and high-tailed it over to the school…and spent my day subbing middle-school art. And I felt like a complete idiot for apparently not knowing how to use the sub system…oy!!!
Scrappin’ mojo-less…
I know, I know…
I know I haven't been around. This last week hit me hard, and my back was out to boot. But I am not as gimpy now and so I hope to get back to posting and creating.
There's a cute "Sweet Treats" class over at Get it Scrapped, taught by the talented Trish. Look how adorable the projects are!
You'll get instructions for 15 projects! I have one free pass to this class…post a comment and I'll put your name in a drawing for it (note: the pass is not for my class, it's for the Sweet Treats class). I'll draw a winner on Wednesday.
A few of my Kenner Road pages…see 'em all & the other talented gals' work in the gallery on the site.
