I love the tweet that Katrina posted yesterday…she said, "I am a Mom. I taught myself photography. I'd love to help you too." I love that. Her photography class, "Your Life: Captured Through the Lens," starts on September 1st!

Awesome.
Just a sneak at some visual journaling in progress….I am writing a new class for Get It Scrapped (the class will start in mid-October). I am feeling very inspired! The class will be project- and technique-based.
Also…if you are local, I am teaching Intro to Art Journaling on Saturday, Sept. 12th at The Creative Quest (awesome store!!) in downtown Glendale. Come and join me! 🙂
Have I told you how talented and generous my friends are? I got some amazing hand-crafted gifts for my birthday, and every time I look at them I smile and feel happy inside. [ETA: My bday is in early June…but I just got together with some of my friends for the first time this summer, so exchanged gifts then.] Here's proof…
Heather: Can this canvas be any cuter? Seriously. I love it!
Heather also made me this rockin' layout…"I Know Her" is an inside joke, and this just cracks me up.
Angie: This collaged frame is to die for. Adorable.
Rachel: She made me a mini book called "40 Things I Love About You" (because I was turning, ahem, 40). The book is painty and messy, and I love it! Such a sweet gift from a sweet friend.
Erin: Erin's friend from Knitty Bitties makes these adorable notepad covers. So, so hecka cute.
Good friends = awesome.
I have a bunch of layouts to photograph this weekend…yay! I also have some amazing projects to share, done by my super-talented friends. But, until I can get everything ready, here are a couple of older pages I did for assignments:
Oh. My. Did you see Danielle's new woodgrain frames kit (swooon)? I love it all…so versatile and easy to use!
I also got to play around with the Kitschy Digitals Goods…printed
sheets of Danielle's awesome Kitschy Digitals elements. Sooo fun…it's
like instant gratification since they're already printed out for you.
Love the vibrant colors, too. These are perfect if you're intimidated by or don't have time to mess with digital elements. You need one of each sheet, and at least two each of the frames. Can't get enough of those frames!
The layout below has both the KD Goods on it and elements I printed on my own printer. I printed the woodgrain background & washi frames, and the cream frames & cupcakes are from the Goods sheets. Fun stuff.
Be sure to check out the new kits at Kenner Road…and visit the creative team's galleries for wonderful ideas…and visit the KR Blog for a giveaway!
For the "Lucky Kiddoz" layout, I did a technique inspired by the super talented Corinne Delis. At her event in Holland last March, she taught a class on dripping ink on a layout & blowing it with a straw, just like we used to do in elementary school! Her layouts were hecka cool, and I've been meaning to try it myself.
The big Kenner Road reveal is tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. Pacific time! Join us at 8:00 p.m. for a pre-reveal chat. The kit this month is very eclectic & fun, and you KNOW you need the add-ons. For sure.
