Some journaling…

Did a bit of journaling…actually just finished this page that was already started. The text is about how I am learning to say no and stand up for myself (hard to do for us peacemaker types).

I know I've been a bit AWOL…this summer has been busy and I haven't been home much. My studio is calling my name, though…can't wait to get home and play. I've got some awesome ideas running through my head!

A few more Ranger U highlights…

Alcohol inks on metal…swoon. Methinks I need a Big Shot and all of Tim Holtz's embossing folders. Right? Right.

The fabulous 4…we were all SO glad we sat next to each other. These women made Ranger U so fun. It was a pleasure to spend 3 days with them!

The tag book (62 tags total) that we made throughout the weekend.

They let me graduate despite my Melting Pot issues…ha. I am now a "Certified Ranger Instructor."

The whole gang.

If you get a chance to go to Ranger U….GO!!!

I’ve been lifted!

The sweet gals over at the Lift This blog have lifted my Ellie layout. I loooove the lifts they did…gorgeous work! Go check it out!

Lift this

I need to write a post about the last couple days of Ranger U…I've been suffering with severe back pain again, so I haven't been doing much except taking copious amounts of Advil and watching CSI reruns.

I feel so lucky to be here at Ranger University…

I have to say, I feel so lucky to be here at Ranger University. I keep pinching myself to remind myself it's real. Ranger selects a diverse group to come…there are owners of scrapping companies, product designers, employees of major craft chains, store owners, major event organizers, and uh…me. lol! It's been a privilege to learn from Suze Weinberg, Claudine Hellmuth, and Tim Holtz. I feel totally and completely inspired…and there's still one more day to go!

Here are a few pics…

Some of the goodies on the table, ready for class.

Everyone getting ready to start the 2nd morning.

Me & Melissa Frances…she is awesome, we are having a blast. She doesn't mock me too much when I make major screw-ups. lol!

002

Part of the piece from Suze's class yesterday. I didn't take any pics of what we did today…will have to do that tomorrow!

The Tracys….both of these sweet gals are named Tracy, they sit across from me & Melissa F. Tracy on the left owns The Treasure Box Club. Tracy on the right owns a store in Houston (that I'm going to come & teach at, right, Tracy?? :).

Thanks for indulging my sharing…I really do feel so lucky to be here! More later!

Soooo, do you think I need more?

What do ya think, do I need just a few more bottles of ink? LOL!!

ETA: A couple of people asked me what my favorites are. Honestly, I'm an equal-opportunity inker. lol! I love all inks for different reasons.

Tim Holtz Adirondack Color Wash: deep, intense color. Permanent when heat-set. If you don't heat-set them, they do cool things when you paint over them and splash water on them. Fave colors: Wild Plum, Lettuce, Butterscotch.

Maya Mist: Fantastic coverage and colors. Permanent when heat set. Some colors have are matte, some shimmery. Fave colors: Lemon Metallic, Lime, Bubblegum…but really, they are all great. They have a charcoal color that's fun b/c you don't find a good grey/black ink very often.

Glimmer Mist: Shimmery, subtle. Fave colors: Jazz Blue, Tiger Lily (an orangey-red), Sunflower. Tattered Angels has very generously donated ink to me a couple of times when I taught overseas, and I really appreciate that.

SEI Tumble Dye: my newest discovery! Opaque, bright colors with good saturation.

There are other inks on the market I haven't tried (Shimmerz, Smooch Spritz, etc.).
